Bedspreads

At some point in a relationship, couples unfortunately always reach a down period and some things tend to go a bit shaky. This extends even up to the trivial yet divorce prerequisite determinants such as occasional bed snobs between couples. A fine, comfortable, and elegantly styled beddings have been proven to actually save couple from sorting out their differences in the most apt solution: romance. Indeed, as most couples can attest to, there is nothing like the comfort that nice bedding brings to a long and romantic night.

Bedding (or bedsheets) is the term used to describe or categorize the type of materials being laid and arranged above the mattress of a bed for warmth and comfort. Today, the modern types are often made from materials such as cotton, flannel, down, satin, polyester, wool, latex, and silk.

Using beddings started in ancient times around 3400 BC, when people thought of having raised platforms or surfaces for sleeping, instead of lying down on floor levels. They thought of covering these raised portions with comfortable materials that will make sleep more comfortable at night.

Historically, beddings are known to have been widely used by pharaohs of the famed Egyptian civilization. During the reign of the Roman Empire, beddings were seen to very extravagant, highly and intricately decorated. Romans often stuff their mattresses with wool and feathers and also adorn their beds with jewels, gold, and other precious metals.

Back in the Renaissance period, bed mattresses were often made from straw and feathers, and were covered with silk and velvet finishing materials. Today, various innovations such as inner spring mattress, water bed, air mattresses, and foam rubber mattresses are widely popular among various levels of modern society.
